It was the very first Saturday in quite a while that we made a decision to load within the car with dogs and water bowls and head out for taking in our beautiful island. We didn’t go far, approximately 20 miles from Los Cristianos into a quaint Canarian fishing village often bypassed as people speed across the TF1 either to or from Santa Cruz. It was quite some time since we have been to Poris de Abona that is a shame because it is just the type of destination to go if you would like leave the tourists behind for an hour or so.
The Tenerife Forum has kept its charms specifically in the centre where nothing has evolved in decades and life still continues on in the relaxed way. On any holiday to you may very well see anglers about the quay or folks topping in the tan. This time was no different – a lone fisherman stood awaiting a catch and in all likelihood wasn’t too concerned if he got a bite or otherwise not, the tranquillity was reward enough.
We started off feeling energetic so walked across the coastline making use of the walkways and promenade how the council have provided. These are typically lovely and get a great deal of benches thus it wasn’t a long time before we stopped to the girls to experience a drink and that we enjoyed the sea views.
Through the promenade we came to the tiny, sheltered curving beach which is loved by locals but never crowded. The really clear water is shallow so we tried to tempt the dogs directly into cool teneriife but that was not going to happen.
From your beach we took from the sights and sounds from the village, which had been deserted and silent! I needed hoped to hook the farmers market in the plaza by the Church, that i had heard has a good variety of local produce nevertheless it was late afternoon hence the place was such as a ghost town.
We continued across the coastal road, which gets to be a rough track and reached the brand new red and white lighthouse that dominates the skyline and is also an icon of Poris. This however is not really the very first which had been integrated 1902.
